چکیده
Chronic Venous Leg Ulcers (CVLUs) are vascular diseases and require complex wound care from a patient, wound, health personnel dressing factors. Cadexomer Iodine (CI) Polyhexamethylene Biguanide (PHMB) antimicrobial broad-spectrum washing fluids. The uncontrolled infection will complicate healing due to bacteria or plankton the biofilm stage infection, which causes long time. Purpose: determine effectiveness of combination biguanide on venous leg ulcer healing. Methods: This study is case using CVLUs as sample, with pre-test post-test designs, patients received topical CI PHMB interventions wounds for 7 weeks. sample in this used one pre-post treatment design seven days.. instrument uses Bates Jensen Wound Assessment Tool. Results: was shown improve by controlling bacterial wounds. In 2nd week, 26cm x 15cm, slough reduced, red base increased. 3rd 4, granulation increase 75%. 7th treatment, size scale increased 7cmx4cm, became 2, significant epithelialization Conclusion: has been control at critical colonization, reduce odour significantly

BACKGROUND The aim was to examine cadexomer iodine paste in a comparative clinical trial. METHODS A 12-week, randomized, open, controlled, multicenter, multinational trial in patients with exudating, venous leg ulcers of cadexomer iodine paste (Iodosorb/Iodoflex), hydrocolloid dressing (Duoderm E, Granuflex E), or paraffin gauze dressing (Jelonet) was carried out. All patients used short-stre...

All patients presented with active chronic venous leg ulcers (clinical, aetiological, anatomical and pathological elements [CEAP]: C6) and had previously been advised elsewhere that their ulcers were amenable to conservative measures only. METHOD Seventy-two patients (84 ...

OBJECTIVE We tested the hypothesis that LED phototherapy with combined 660-nm and 890-nm light will promote healing of venous ulcers that failed to respond to other forms of treatment. BACKGROUND DATA A variety of dressings, growth factors, and adjunct therapies are used to treat venous ulcers, but none seems to yield satisfactory results. MATERIALS AND METHODS We used a randomized placebo-...
